Edward Gibbon wrote over two hundred years ago of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. The Romans actually conquered land and people. Unlike their sycophantic minions at SNEA / AFSMCE Local 4041, the Romans actually won the big battles. 57 years later no Collective Bargaining. They don't have the votes to override a veto. Rory Reid hasn't got a shot at winning the Governor's race. Bonnie Parnell isn't running for office and that seat is sure to be won by the opposition. Even Harry Reid isn't going to bed on election eve.
Now, rumors are abound of yet another staff shake-up. One more New Visioneer bites the dust.
So, what's left. The same crew that drove the bus into the ground. Declining membership and people fleeing the State doesn't lend itself to positive outcomes. In fact, the truth is AFSCME can't even run an organizing campaign in part because SEIU is clobbering them in Arizona.
SEIU was right 15 years. The end of ASKSCUMMIE is near.

SNEA / AFSCME Local 4041 The Passing of Roger Maillard
Very sorry to hear the news yesterday about Brother Roger Maillard. He was a kind hearted man and he will very much be missed.
While we're musing, not a word from behind the Iron Curtain about Brother Maillard's passing. Nice work guys, that's the way you treat your brethren. No wonder you're losing your behinds.

Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock.....SNEA / AFSCME Local 4041
Newsflash...Newsflash...Newsflash......
SNEA / AFSCME Local 4041 is imploding as ya'll speak. The overriding theme is no one knows what's goin on inside the brick walls of 709 E. Robinson. Rumors are flying about two staffers having resigned. Then they deny they resigned. Then a long-time member confirms the contentious resignation.
No return phone calls. Hey, Dennis where the heck are you? Oh we know, you're bound and gagged by your bosses. The same ones that re-assign organizers (loose definition)and place them in-house where the bosses can spy on Dennis and anyone else that walks through the office.
Not the whole story....let's throw Nepotism on the fire too. Along with Mr. Microphone and his loose lips. Seems nothing is sacred over at the corner of Roop and Robinson. The ethically challenged reside at 709 E. Robinson. Come late October it will be the House of Horrors. Lately it's just been business-as-usual.

New Free Speech Violations by SNEA / AFSCME Local 4041
Apparently, a Welfare worker in Reno has decided to take it upon herself to violate an entire Chapter's dissenting opinions. When they spoke, she tried to squash their voice. Substantiated news out of Washoe County demonstrates that Sirs Mallory Starsky and Aldo Hutch had to sent a private message to tell this State employee to knock off her violations of free speech.
But here's the most telling story. A "Good and Well" meeting has been called for in Las Vegas to guillotine a member whom has allegedly been leaking information statewide. Now remember, a good union member gets the word out, to organize, so on and so forth.
So, but when it's about alleged ill-doings, it's a violation of the Bylaws ? Excuse us, but the last time we checked that's Free Speech. Like it or not. Let's have a Whistleblower case for this tinkering and parsing of terms.
But what's more amazing is that no one elsewhere in the State of Nevada is welcome to testify on behalf of said member. That's right. We can't have justice. We can't correct the ills of our fellow members. Judge, Jury and Executioner is Desert Chapter and the State Board.
Well, we say, sue the creeps! Take them for every dime they've got.
You want Rights, Respect and Dignity in the workplace. Best practice it in your own house. Hypocrites !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grumblings out of SNEA / AFSCME Local 4041 Growing
It's not even 6 weeks since the Legislature ended. And word out of Ely has it that Mrs. Lake and Mr. Boles blew a hearing. Not just blew it. Didn't even show up for it. Yes, that's dues money well spent. Membership continues to fall and staff are fired or walk away for doing their job. That's never been heard of with this organization. Not!!!! State workers continue to suffer because it's the same-old-same-old routine at SNEA / AFSCME Local 4041.

What Were They Thinking ??? SNEA / AFSCME Local 4041 and Mr. Thompson
No, duh they're upset? They didn't read (or listen to) the exam questions before the fracas started. Assemblywoman Kirkpatrick laid it out in the first CB committee hearing in the Assembly. Where's their brain at?
Besides, again and again and again, this is 20 years of frustration caused by....THEMSELVES.....And where in the Legislature does it say the representatives have to kowtow?
Sheer pathetic behavior is at the center of their lack of Collective Bargaining. Just like....Ask Rush where his head was at when he secretly taped a grievance meeting and got himself into a verbal bruhaha with a UNLV Administrator in February 2006 thus destroying any possibility of CB in the University System.
Are the synapses even firing ? Read the latest whine session below:
In Labor’s heart, Dems didn’t deliver
Leaders say unions took unfair hit in legislative session, vow to fight in ’11
By Michael Mishak (contact)
Tue, Jun 9, 2009 (2 a.m.)
Nevada labor leaders are disappointed that their Democratic allies in the Legislature failed to advance significant items on labor’s agenda despite controlling both chambers for the first time in two decades.
To be sure, unions can claim some small victories, including improvements to the state’s workers’ compensation system and mandated safety training for construction workers. But a sense of frustration — even outrage — was palpable last week as labor leaders lamented lawmakers’ failure to restructure the state’s tax system.
To hear them tell it, the Legislature robbed workers for the second consecutive session, forcing cuts in public employee pay, pensions and health benefits. Moreover, legislators amended collective bargaining rules for local governments, tilting the system toward management.
The Legislature’s failure to adopt new long-term revenue sources angers Danny Thompson, executive secretary-treasurer of the 200,000-member Nevada AFL-CIO.
